Zoo Santo In\u00e1cio is celebrating the birth of yet another Dama Gazelle (Nanger dama mhorr<\/em>) \u2013 the largest of all the species in the gazelle family and one of the rarest antelopes in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dama Gazelle is classified as “Critically Endangered” by the IUCN, and its main threats are over-hunting, the loss and degradation of its habitat due to pressure from domestic livestock and the increasing temperatures (desert conditions) that make it difficult for it to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
