The Sun Beetle has a robust and slightly flat body, with contrasting and variable colors. Usually the colors present are yellow and black, with different patterns.
Behaviour
They are very territorial animals. The males compete with each other in order to determine which is the dominant male, and sometimes these confrontations end with the death of one of the individuals.
Reproduction
It is an oviparous species that grows and develops through a process called metamorphosis (egg, larva, pupa, and adult). The adults often lay their eggs in small balls of faeces and plant remains (1 egg in each ball). These balls will serve as food for the larvae when they hatch.
