    It is a large, heavy scorpion with a black coloration. It emits a fluorescent glow when under ultraviolet light. It is an arthropod and therefore has an exoskeleton - an external skeleton that supports and protects an animal's body. Scorpions differ from other arachnids by having long palps, in addition to the characteristic long and dangerous tail, which ends in a needle, and it is through this sting that the scorpion inoculates its venom.

    Behaviour

    It is a tropical, terrestrial scorpion that lives mostly on the surface, among rocks and branches, although it occasionally seeks burrows. It is an aggressive and solitary species. Its venom is mild and causes only minor pain to humans.

    Reproduction

    It is an oviparous species. The female lays her eggs on the forest floor, and after they hatch, the young are carried on the mother's back until the first molt.
